First Resource offers reimbursement support services and patient assistance to help you gain access to the Pfizer Oncology medicines you need. If you qualify, the program can also provide co-pay assistance for certain medicines. A First Resource counselor will help confirm if you are eligible for assistance, and can guide you through the enrollment process.
If you have prescription drug coverage, First Resource can provide the following benefits:- Reimbursement support services
- Explain coverage and reimbursement options
- Review and confirm your benefits
- Investigate and explain prior authorization process
- Assistance with finding another funding source if needed, such as state pharmaceutical assistance programs, Medicaid, Medicare Part D, low-income subsidies, and charitable foundations
- Appeals process information
- Hardship assistance, if you qualify
If you are faced with a serious financial hardship (eg, cannot afford your co-insurance, or have been denied coverage), you can apply for hardship assistance through First Resource. If approved, you can access your Pfizer Oncology medicines for free. Eligibility for financial exceptions varies by product. A First Resource counselor will help confirm if you are eligible for hardship assistance. If you are accepted into First Resource hardship assistance, you must reapply to the program at the end of each calendar year (December 31).
A First Resource counselor can help determine if you are eligible for free Pfizer Oncology medicines through the program. To receive free medicines, you must:- Have no prescription coverage or not enough coverage
- Meet specific income guidelines, adjusted for family size
- Live in the United States, the US Virgin Islands, or Puerto Rico
- Be treated by a licensed doctor in the United States or Puerto Rico
The following medicines are available through the First Resource program:- Aromasin® (exemestane tablets)
- Camptosar® (irinotecan HCI injection)
- Ellence® (epirubicin hydrochloride injection)
- Emcyt® (estramustine phosphate sodium capsules)
- Idamycin® (idarubicin hydrochloride for injection, USP)
- Neumega® (oprelvekin)
- Sutent® (sunitinib malate)
- Torisel® (temsirolimus) injection
- Zinecard® (dexrazoxane for injection)

- You and your doctor must fill out and fax or mail the completed application, along with
proof of incomeProof of income includes copies of one of the following documents that show your total gross annual household income: - Current paycheck stub
- Federal tax return (Form 1040 or 1040EZ) for the prior tax year
- Wage and tax statements (W-2 forms)
- Social security, pension, or railroad retirement statements (SSA-1099 or similar)
- Statements of interest, dividends, or other income (1099-INT, 1099, 1099-DIV or other forms)

Your total gross annual household income must be at or below 2 times the federal
poverty level (see the chart below).
